Finally, ‘tis the season for Gilmore Girls reruns, homework assignments done at lightning speed, and pumpkin spice lattes to cope with our impending deadlines. We all need a cute outfit to unite our Stars Hollow dreams with our bustling Winsor realities. Luckily, Winsor’s sophmore fashion fiends Kendal Pauyo ’26, Sophia Wang ’26, and Saratu Waya ’26 have devoured and left no crumbs with their style advice. From fashion hot takes that could make any fashion editor shake in their boots to outfit inspiration that will make your eyes question if you’re staring at your high-school newspaper or the latest edition of Vogue; their invaluable advice is guaranteed to turn Winsor’s hallways into your personal catwalk.
What has been your favorite outfit that you’ve worn since school started and why?
Saratu Waya ’26: This UO Pria Top with the BDG Y2K Pocket Jean and the Converse Run Star Hike! I really like mesh tops, but this is the only one I have with a graphic. Also, the pants and shoes are super comfortable, and I find myself wearing them a lot.
Sophia Wang ’26: An olive-green cardigan with a tank top, cargo pants, a bag, Steve Madden platform sandals, and silver teddy bear and heart earrings. I love the color, comfort, simplicity, and match[ing] silver elements.
Any fashion hot takes?
Kendal Pauyo ’26: I see people wear Uggs a lot, and low cut Uggs just aren’t my style, I prefer the classic ones.
Saratu: As someone who did ballet for 10 years, balletcore is not it. Some people can pull it off with the bow motif, but there’s no reason for you to be walking down the street looking like you’re fresh out of a professional ballet class.
Sophia: Dresses over pants go hard, no matter what everyone says. Also, when blended right, silver and gold look so good together.
Any essential fashion tips?
Saratu: Accessorize. It’s definitely something that I’m still working on but something as simple as a necklace or belt can make your outfit so much better!
Sophia: Look at inspiration, such as Pinterest, TikTok, and people-watching, especially when you feel like you have nothing to wear. It gives you so many ideas on how to repurpose and recycle the clothes you own in ways you haven’t thought of and helps you further develop your personal style. Also, a cute hairstyle adds so much to an outfit. Finally, don’t limit yourself to one aesthetic. An outfit can’t reach its full potential without confidence, and a good outfit is boring if you don’t look back at it and question yourself.
Kendal: Just own at least a few basics because you can do so much with them, like layering over them or matching them with a clothing item that’s very out there.
You heard it here loves! Our hope is that their advice can help you make the decision to make your autumn Pinterest board vision a reality (with pumpkins in tow).
