New Year, New Look: Winsor’s Unexpected Makeover

By: Jaya Goud and Bonnie Shao

Recently, many students have noticed the exciting new interior design choices filling the previously bland halls of The Winsor School. From the lime green walls to the faces of Lower Schoolers next to the gym, Winsor has certainly gotten creative this year!

These changes have definitely impacted daily life at Winsor. In particular, Charlotte Wheler ’27 noted “the modernized bathroom in the science wing.” She told us, “It was just yesterday that I walked into that bathroom for the first time. I did not expect to find orange/red stall doors and lovely tile that so contrasted the overwhelming gray of the bathroom in previous years. The cheerful colors welcomed me in. I left the bathroom in a better mood.” Our personal favorite is the “Red Hot Field,” which we hope encourages our athletic teams to perform to the best of their ability (so long as they are not robbed of their eyesight!).

These unexpected makeovers have changed the atmosphere of Winsor like never before. In the words of Carmel Harrison ’27: “the immortalized moments of students still in attendance at Winsor prominently displayed on the walls sets an ominous mood—whose face will be next?”
