Thinking about what you will do this summer? Deciding what to do always seems to be a hot topic at this time of year, but have you started to think about what new movies to see?
Maybe not, but if you do stay up to date with movies, then I bet you’ve seen Avengers: Infinity War! If you haven’t seen Infinity War, you are missing out, but Marvel fans are quite excited for the sequel of Ant Man and the Wasp, which is coming out July 6! Even if you aren’t a Marvel fan, there are still some great blockbuster movies coming out this summer. Here’s an overview of the summer’s biggest movies so that you have a good idea of what to expect in order to help you decide which movies you should see.
If you were born in the early 2000s, chances are you know and love The Incredibles! Released in 2004, The Incredibles is famous for its goofy superhero family. Also, who doesn’t love Pixar?! The Incredibles 2, which is coming out on June 2, is highly anticipated by young and old viewers, including myself. One Winsor student, Teresa L. ’19, told me why she is excited to see the upcoming film, saying, “I love all of Pixar’s movies, but The Incredibles has always been one of my family’s favorites. It’s exciting and fun, but it also has a deeper message about family. I’m really excited to see where the story will pick up and how the characters will have changed since we last saw them.” There will be new villains and major character development as the Parr family’s baby, Jack-Jack, discovers his own superpowers!
The next movie is pretty dope and personally I cannot wait for it to come out: Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom! This movie comes out on June 22. If you are a fan of dinosaurs, action, or Chris Pratt, this movie is one you MUST see! Jurassic Park first dropped in 1993 and has been a classic ever since. This new movie is a sequel to Jurassic World, which came out in 2015, but it is the fifth movie in the Jurassic Park franchise. Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom should be full of action and excitement!
The last movie I will recommend coming out this summer is Mission Impossible: Fallout. Tom Cruise is pretty much an icon, and every Cruise fan will be seeing this movie, as you never know when Tom might retire. The first Mission Impossible movie came out in 1996, and Fallout will be the sixth movie in the series! Coming out July 27, Mission Impossible: Fallout should not disappoint! These are just some of the many great movies coming out this summer.
If you are tired of hearing about movies, there are many other fun activities to do. Listed below are several fun events coming up that you may be interested in. Summer is almost here, so it’s time to start planning out fun activities you can do with family friends!
